Terms of Service
LAST UPDATED · 21 JULY 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Placardo (“Placardo”, “we”, “us”) covering your use of the Placardo service at placardo.com — an AI-assisted poster design tool. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Placardo.
1. The service
Placardo lets you upload photos, describe the poster you want, and receive editable AI-generated designs you can refine and export. Features, quotas, and plans are described on our pricing page and may evolve over time. We may add, change, or remove features, and will aim to give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce a paid plan.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- One person per account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits is not permitted and may lead to suspension.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Placardo.
3. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are shown on the pricing page.
- Paid subscriptions (Pro, Studio) bill monthly or yearly in advance through our payment provider, Stripe. Yearly plans are priced at ten months for twelve months of service.
- You can cancel any time from the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't offer pro-rata refunds for unused time, except where required by law.
- Generation and touch-up quotas reset on their stated cycle (weekly for paid plans, monthly for Free). Failed generations and failed touch-ups never count against your quota. Quotas don't roll over.
- If we change a plan's price, we'll notify you before it applies to your next renewal.
- Nothing in these terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of the photos you upload and the posters you create. We claim no ownership over your content.
- You give us the limited licence we need to run the service: to store, process, resize, analyse, and render your content, including sending it to the AI providers that power generation (see our Privacy Policy), and to display it back to you.
- You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload — don't upload photos or artwork you don't have permission to use, or images of people who haven't consented to their use.
- Free-plan exports carry a Placardo watermark. Paid plans export without it.
5. AI-generated designs
- Subject to these terms, we assign to you our rights (if any) in the poster designs the AI generates for you. You can use your exported posters commercially.
- AI output is not unique by nature — similar prompts can produce similar designs for other users. We can't guarantee exclusivity of layouts, styles, or stock decorative elements.
- You are responsible for reviewing designs before you use them, including any text the AI wrote (dates, prices, claims) and your own legal obligations for how and where you publish them.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Placardo to create or distribute material that is:
- unlawful, defamatory, or deceptive (including scams or impersonation);
- infringing someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy;
- hateful, harassing, or sexualising minors in any way;
- or to probe, overload, or disrupt the service (scraping, reverse engineering, rate-limit evasion, or reselling access without our written permission).
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section.
7. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Placardo fast and available, but the service is provided “as is” and we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Scheduled quotas, AI model behaviour, and third-party providers can all change; where a change materially degrades a paid feature we'll aim to tell you in advance.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under Australian law, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Placardo and delete your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms; where practical we'll warn you first. On termination your right to use the service ends, and we'll delete your stored content in line with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we'll give notice (for example by email or in-app) before they take effect. Continuing to use Placardo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Questions, notices, and complaints: support@placardo.com.
